In Transit …

Planes and trains, hotels and metros …

Getting started on this Camino is a Camino unto itself!

Monday:  Left home to Oak aiport and flight to LAX.

Tuesday: Flight from LAX to Madrid.

Wednesday:  Arrive in Madrid, connecting flight to Milan,  arriving late in the evening. Note that this is as close as we’re going to get to sightseeing in Milan … a photo of the Duomo that’s in our hotel room! No touristing tonight!

Thursday:  Early morning, catch the metro to Milan Central, then the train to Riomaggiore (Cinqueterre), our home for 4 nights! Yippee!

Monday: Train to Pavia.

Tuesday:  We start walking!

  1. So happy to hear that you made it! And that was the easy part! Lol. Thanks for updating us on your pre-Camino walk. You know I’ll be watching every day for your comments,… No pressure! Love you both.

    1. Stiamo bene oggi! Just a Metro, then a train left for us to do today and we’re in Cinqueterre!
At the airport, we decided to try the Metro option for transport to our b&b vs. a taxi. Seemed easy. We walked to the metro station and looked at the ticket machine for 10 minutes before we, with some help from some Spanish tourists visiting Italy, finally got 2 tickets! We found Metro “4”, and got on. The first stop was ours, so off we went, and stared at the metro exit machine for another 10 minutes, trying to determine Where Does This Ticket Go? That solved, we walked to the b&b with Google leading the way! And, we’re here!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement, Jack! We are now in Cinque Terre listening to the ocean sounds and enjoying a few days by the sea before we start our walk.
